Valle of Mexico working on bigger Hamburg location

Owners of Valle of Mexico, the South Buffalo Mexican restaurant, are preparing to launch a bigger Hamburg restaurant.

The new spot, 5569 Camp Road, was formerly an Arby’s. When work is complete, hopefully by the end of November, it should offer several features the restaurant’s current location, 1586 South Park Ave., does not, said owner Hector Martinez.

A parking lot, for one. The new place will offer about twice the dining space, with 100 seats or more, Martinez said. It will also feature a much larger kitchen, which may help with service delays that customers sometimes encounter.

The Hamburg location's larger kitchen will also allow Valle of Mexico to expand its menu, Martinez said. Possible additions include various types of Mexico-City-style antojitos, snacks sold largely by street vendors, including pambazos, chorizo-and-potato sandwiches made with bread dipped in guajillo chile sauce.

Valle of Mexico on South Park is expected to remain open until the new location is ready, Martinez said.

[Here's my Valle of Mexico review, which praised its authentic flavors, and lamented its service. And my account of a follow-up visit, which found service improved.]
