Person of interest in homicide case jailed for gun

A 16-year-old Janet Street boy described by Buffalo homicide detectives as a “person of interest” in one of their cases remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center late Thursday, about 24 hours after he was arrested in the third block of Langfield Drive with a .38-caliber revolver in his trousers pocket.

After a short foot chase about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, the youth was charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
