Front page Sept. 10, 1915: 'Snipers fire nightly at patrols in Crystal Beach and Ridgeway'

Among the local news on the day's front page:

"44th Canadian Infantry sentries report seeing big touring car with five or six occupants speeding away after each attack"

"CRYSTAL BEACH -- Firing by snipers at sentries and patrols of the 44th Canadian infantry at Ridgeway and Crystal Beach in the last few days has given the soldiers of the regiment a taste of a type of warfare their brothers-in-arms in northern France and Belgium have been experiencing for many months. In all cases, the soldiers have returned the fire, but so far no one has been hurt."
