Johnny Rockets will open its first Johnny’s Burger Factory concept restaurant at Walden Galleria Sept. 23.
The store will be located on the second floor adjacent to Pole Position Raceway.
Johnny Rockets declined to go into detail about the new concept, but it looks like it will deviate from the company’s usual retro 50s diner schtick. An employment ad for the restaurant describes the corporate-owned Johnny’s Burger Factory as having “fresh, hand-crafted and forward-thinking food,” and calls it “the ‘Better Burger’ concept that serves high-quality, on-trend burgers, shakes and fries in an energetic environment that always engages and inspires.”
The company declined to provide further details, including how it chose Western New York for its first Burger Factory location.
Johnny Rockets, a California-headquartered restaurant chain, opened a traditional Johnny Rockets location in the mall in 1998, but it closed last year. The closest Johnny Rockets store in New York State is near Syracuse. There is another in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
