Amherst Street man jailed in neighborhood burglary

A 47-year-old Amherst Street man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday for allegedly burglarizing a neighbor’s residence. Daniel Sheahan was charged with felony counts of second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief for the early morning entry that led to his arrest near his own home in the 1000 block of that street. He remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center late Wednesday night pending further court proceedings in the case.
