Bar patron accused of attacking security, mailbox

A Hamburg man who was asked multiple times to leave an Orchard Park bar early Saturday allegedly threw a beer bottle against a wall, fought with security and kicked over a mailbox outside the bar, police said.

Nathan Mercado, 24, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, trespass, second-degree harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Orchard Park police responded to the bar on Abbott Road at Route 20 about 1:50 a.m. for a report of an unruly patron, according to a news release.

Mercado is also accused of punching a bar security staff member in the face causing minor injuries and spitting and swearing at police and medical personnel. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center by the Windom Fire Company.

Mercado is due in Town Court on Sept. 22.
