TOWN OF LOCKPORT – Investigators said a fire Thursday morning in the Woodlands mobile home park may have been deliberately set.
Officals said that just before 2 a.m. a neighbor alerted an Evergreen Drive resident to the fire, which spread from a new lawnmower to siding of his home. A garden hose was used to to douse the flames, officials said.
Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies who noticed a propane torch near the lawnmower and footprints around it called in a K-9 unit and tracked a trail across the park to another trailer, collecting a discarded oil can and three cigarette butts along the way, authorities said. The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating.
