Wyoming County skilled nursing facility completes repairs

WARSAW – The portion of the dining rooms and entrance to the skilled nursing facility of the Wyoming County Community Hospital here that sustained structural damage on Jan. 14 was approved for reopening Thursday by an inspection team from the state Department of Health, hospital officials said Friday.

The repair work included installation of a new concrete pier, a steel column, new windows, a new ceiling, and new lights and flooring. Structural problems and heavy snowfall were blamed for the problems in January.

Dawn James, acting administrator of the facility, said “residents are pleased to have the additional space available and especially excited to view the picturesque county side through the large wall of windows again.”
