More streets to be paved in Lockport, McCaffrey says

LOCKPORT – Eleven City of Lockport streets have been repaved in whole or in part this summer, with three more to be completed and four more still to be started, Mayor Anne E. McCaffrey said this week.

Hawley Street and Bewley Parkway still need a final coat of asphalt, and Van Buren Street is to be paved the week of Sept. 14, the mayor said.

During the week of Sept. 21, Lincoln Avenue will be milled from Beattie Avenue to Locust Street, linking up with the just-finished county reconstruction of Lincoln east of Beattie. Also to be milled that week are Willow Street between South Transit and Pine streets, and Beattie from Lincoln to Willow.

Also, the city is making plans for repairs to North Transit Street from the Tri-Way Bridge to Niagara Street. Pothole patching will continue into October, McCaffrey said.
