Lackawanna man given federal prison term for child pornography

James M. Meyers, 29, of Lackawanna was ordered by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara Thursday to serve a 30-month Federal prison term on his conviction for possession of child pornography.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott S. Allen, Jr. said the case began when the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office in Warsaw received a complaint from an individual in the Town of Pike on June 24, 2014 about a digital memory card (an SD card) that someone had misplaced there and which seemed to contain images of child pornography.

A subsequent investigation by the FBI’s forensic experts determined the digital memory card belonged to Meyers and contained child pornography, including graphic images of prepubescent children and he was arrested 12 months ago, Allen said.
