The Fowler’s Chocolates shop in the HarborCenter opened last week.
It’s one of four retail outlets in The Shops at HarborCenter, all now open — Clayton’s Toys & Gifts for children, Modern Nostalgia specialty clothing store and Red Siren women’s clothing and accessory boutique. The stores take up about 5,000 square feet in a mini-mall on the Main Street side of the building, facing the harbor.
Fowler’s 600-square-foot shop is smaller than its typical 1,000- to 1,600-square-feet blueprint, according to the company. It will focus on sponge candy and other Buffalo-centric delicacies, and also offer Sweet Jenny’s hard ice cream.
This is the sixth location for Fowler’s, which traces its roots to a stand opened by Joseph A. Fowler outside the Pan American Exposition in 1901.
