Elks host pig roast to benefit Camp Happiness

LOCKPORT – A pig roast and basket raffle is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 to benefit Camp Happiness, the annual summer camp for the developmentally disabled in Somerset.

The party will be held at the Lockport Elks Lodge, 6791 N. Canal Road. Fred Kanehl of the Elks said the pig was provided by Mike Landers, owner of Howell Motors, a Ford dealership in Wrights Corners, who bought the pig from a 4-H child at last month’s Niagara County Fair. Kanehl said Landers’ son attends Camp Happiness each year. Earlier this year, Howell Motors made a $10,000 donation to the camp, the largest local business donation in the camp’s eight-year history.

Tickets for the party can be purchased at the Elks Lodge or at Howell Motors.
