LITTLE VALLEY – Milling and paving work on State Route 39, known as Main Street in the Town of Yorkshire, is to begin Tuesday morning with lane closures from State Route 16 to the Wyoming County line, the State Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
During the first phase of construction, traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes of State Route 39. After that work is completed, traffic will be shifted back over to the newly-constructed westbound lanes for the duration of the project which is expected to take three to four months to complete.
DOT officials warned that motorists on that route should expect delays and should allow for extra travel time or must seek alternate routes. For real-time travel information motorists can call 511 or visit online at www.511.ny.org. Susan S. Surdej, DOT spokeswoman, said the DOT can also be checked at www.dot.ny.gov and on Twitter at @NYSDOTBuffalo for information about the Cattaraugus County work.
