YOUNGSTOWN – The 30th annual Great Lakes Beach Sweep will be held on Sept. 19 with Niagara County efforts being coordinated by the Aquarium of Niagara.
The Niagara County cleanup will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and focus on Fort Niagara State Park and the Four Mile Creek area. Interested volunteers should meet in Fort Niagara State Park in the parking lot.
“The project is the world’s largest volunteer data gathering effort on behalf of the environment,” said supervisor of education for the Aquarium, Jeanette Brunner. “It helps educate people about the importance of protecting the environment for future generations.”
World-wide over 500,000 people each year conduct cleanup activities around every body of water.
