Medina man is charged with drunken driving

ALBION – New York state police charged a Medina man with aggravated driving while intoxicated after he drove off a road on Monday. Troopers found his blood alcohol level to be more than three times the legal limit.

Jose Gomez Chavez, 42, was additionally charged with failure to keep right, moving from a lane unsafely and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Troopers found Chavez’s pickup in a field on Maple Street in the Town of Barre and additionally received a report of a suspicious vehicle that matched his description from the Orleans County Sheriff Department.

Chavez was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.28 percent, more than three times the intoxicated level of 0.08 percent, reported police.
