NIAGARA FALLS – A couple face numerous charges, including weapons charges, after they were pulled over in a routine traffic stop on Caravelle Drive this week.
New York State Police said Ronnie H. Chandler, 29, and his wife, Stephany Chandler, 25, both of Lockport were stopped for having no left side view mirror and inadequate lights on their vehicle. Both appeared in Niagara Falls City Court on Wednesday and were released after posting an unspecified bail.
Stephany Chandler was found to be driving with a suspended license and was issued traffic tickets and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.
Ronnie Chandler is a convicted felon with an order of protection that prohibits him from possessing a firearm, said police. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree criminal contempt and criminal possession of a firearm after police found an unregistered 9 mm handgun in the vehicle.
