Attica man charged with Bennington home invasion

WARSAW – A 55-year-old Attica man arrested late Monday morning for a Town of Bennington home invasion and a high speed police chase remained in custody Wednesday at the Wyoming County Jail here in lieu of $100,000 bail, Attica Police officials reported.

Melvin H. Miller was arrested in back of his Washington Street home by Attica police offices about 11:19 a.m. Monday after a high speed police chase after word was passed on by state police about the Bennington incident.

Miller was charged with felony burglary counts by state police. Attica police charged him with third-degree fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle;, second-degree reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unlawful possession of marijuana and twelve Vehicle and Traffic infractions He faces court proceedings in Attica and Bennington town courts.
