Lockport man arrested for stalking ex-girlfriend

LOCKPORT – A 19-year-old Lockport man was arrested Sunday by State Police after he nearly caused his ex-girlfriend to crash her car on West Main Street as she was driving to file a police report about his alleged stalking, officials reported Tuesday.

Scott M. Cummings was quickly stopped and charged with stalking shortly after the alleged victim managed to swerve as he tried to drive head-on into her car as she was going to file the criminal complaint. Under questioning by troopers Cummings admitted using a cell phone APP to track the woman’s phone and had texted her over 200 times and showed up at her place of work, her home and the houses of friends of hers and making threats if she would not go out with him again. He faces further proceedings in Lockport Town Court in coming weeks.
