Peace Bridge commissioners ought to focus on traffic flow
I rarely have anything positive to say about politicians or other public officials, regardless of party affiliation. That said, I have to extend credit to Sam Hoyt, co-chairman of the International Peace Bridge Commission. Per a recent article, he and his fellow U.S. members voted unanimously against sending a commission delegation to Ireland on a promotional (read luxury vacation) tour at the public’s expense.
Instead of focusing on getting the Peace Bridge traffic flowing properly, let alone building a new or additional bridge, the Canadian delegation wants to travel to Ireland. Me, too. Maybe I can go as a special citizen adviser. I hope Hoyt hangs tough on this and keeps the public informed on any other future boondoggles the commission attempts to perpetrate.
