Hanover seeks grant for sewer improvements

SIlVER CREEK – Town of Hanover Supervisor Todd H. Johnson was authorized to sign a grant application seeking funds to upgrade the town’s sewer treatment facility.

The action came at a special meeting of the town board held Monday in the town hall. Johnson will sign a grant application for the New York State Water Infrastructure Improvement Act which is being prepared by Municipal Solutions.

The town has listed several million dollars worth of work that needs to be upgraded at the 30 year old plant in Irving. Grant funding would reduce charges billed to residents of the sewer district which includes Irving, Sunset Bay, Hanford Bay and the commercial area along Routes 5 and 20 in Irving.
