Jamestown teen dies in Lakewood crash

LAKEWOOD – A 16-year-old Jamestown girl was fatally injured when the driver of a car she was in made an illegal turn into a business in this village Thursday night.

The girl, whose name was not released by police, was a passenger in the car driven by Jose A. Rosa Jr., 17, of Jamestown.

His car was struck as he allegedly made an illegal left hand turn in front of oncoming traffic into a Tim Hortons parking lot at 270 E. Fairmount Avenue about 9 p.m., police said.

The passenger side of his car was struck by an oncoming car whose driver could not swerve away fast enough.

The girl was pronounced dead at WCA Hospital.

The other driver was released by police but Rosa could face charges at the completion of the investigation into the crash, according to police officials.
