More on the latest twists in the Buffalo superintendent search

As noted in Saturday's stories, several major developments have occurred regarding the search for a permanent Buffalo Public Schools superintendent.

  • State Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia has inserted herself in Buffalo's superintendent search process, recommending former Memphis Superintendent Kriner Cash for the top job. He is scheduled to interview with the board on Tuesday. Here's a copy of Cash's resume from when he was still superintendent: Cash resume  Cash left Memphis City Schools in 2013.
  • Board member Carl Paladino sent an email stating he's fed up with board President James Sampson's unwillingness to support Principal Kevin Eberle for the superintendent's position, and argued that he should step down as president because of his "complete lack of capacity to lead."
  • Board member Barbara Seals Nevergold, speaking for the minority bloc, has sent a letter to the commissioner asking Paladino be removed from office. Here's her letter, which includes a copy of Paladino's original email to Sampson: Nevergold letter to Elia 7-31-15
