Man charged with pilfering from a fellow hotel guest

NIAGARA FALLS – Jewelry was stolen from a guest living in a motel while the room was being exterminated.

Dennis P. McGuire, 50, a resident at the Niagara Falls Boulevard motel, was charged with petit larceny in connection to the theft. He was identified from security video and the victim said he was wearing her jewelry. She told police two necklaces and three bracelets, valued at $100 were stolen.

The victim told police Wednesday she had moved her things out of her room Tuesday night in the Niagara Rainbow Motel while it was being cleaned and was given permission to temporarily put them in the laundry room. She returned the following day and found her jewelry missing.
