Letter: Republicans are selective on which remarks to hate

Republicans are selective on which remarks to hate

The Republicans are up in arms because of Donald Trump’s negative characterizations of Sen. John McCain’s service.

While they obviously do not realize that his intemperate remarks, by comparison, make them look reasonable and moderate, they show their selectivity between what they condemn and what they accept.

Case in point: when Trump went after President Obama accusing him of lying about his law school record, his American birth and other imagined nefarious activities, he got a pass from the vast majority of Republicans. They go after Trump now when in fact they should have done so when his words were most disrespectful toward our president.

Hypocrisy and selective outrage at their worst.
