Falls teen arraigned on burglary indictment

LOCKPORT – Jarret R. Guzman, 17, of Ashland Avenue, Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court to an indictment accusing him of taking part in a Jan. 22 burglary at a vacant house on Fourth Street in the Falls.

Guzman is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. A co-defendant, Nelson M. Merced, 23, of LaSalle Avenue in the Falls, is scheduled for arraignment on the same charges Friday.

County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III allowed Guzman to remain free without bail, but he imposed an 11 p.m. curfew on him.
