National Grid announced that is delaying the power interruption for some of the West Side and the Allen Street by a day.
Electricity will go out on Friday instead of Thursday as originally planned.
Power will be shut off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fargo Avenue, Porter Avenue, Prospect, Pennsylvania Street, Jersey Street, Niagara, Plymouth Avenue and West Avenue.
Some streets that had been on the original list will not be affected. Power will stay on at Orton Place, Allen Street, Arlington Place, College Street, Hudson Street.
Residents were notified by phone Wednesday afternoon.
“We’ve already contacted them. All the customers have been notified,” said Virginia Limmiatis, National Grid spokeswoman.
