In The Valley Below, the melodic alt-pop band known for the hit “Peaches,” returns to Buffalo for a show at 8 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Tralf Music Hall.
The announcement comes just days after the duo – Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacobs – put on an impressive set at Sunday’s sold-out Kerfuffle concert at Canalside. News reviewer Michael Farrell wrote the combo “had the difficult task of transitioning from Uncle Ben’s Remedy twang to their brand of synth-and-guitar-tracked sexual energy, but vocalist Gail certainly accommodated. Cooing college radio hits like ‘Peaches’ while lovingly pawing at partner Jacob’s bearded face, the two were the day’s hipster answer to Sonny and Cher – and in a good way. Songs that play ethereal and brooding on record stormed offstage, and were beautifully coaxed by the couple.”
Tickets are $13 advance, $15 the day of show and are on sale now at the Tralf box office (622 Main St.) and through Ticketmaster outlets including Walmart and Terrapin Station. Call 852 -2860.
