Driving through a stop sign leads to drug arrest

A 30-year-old Riverside Avenue woman who was pulled over Tuesday after she allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign on Virginia Street at Prospect Avenue was arrested on felony drug and marijuana charges.

Monserrate Rivera was found to have a lighted marijuana blunt in the center console of her car after she was pulled over, police said. Officers also reported finding she had 45 narcotic pills not in their original containers and 10 bags of marijuana. She was charged with third and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana.
