Dentist alerts police to alleged drunken driver

GASPORT – A woman was charged with drunken driving on Tuesday after police were alerted by a local dentist office that she had left their office intoxicated.

Kathleen M. Kunkel, 71, of Lockport, was charged by State police with felony driving while intoxicated due to a previous conviction within the past 10 years.

Troopers said when they stopped her she showed signs of intoxication and failed sobriety tests.

Kunkel was arraigned in the Town of Lockport and remanded to Niagara County Jail on $1,000 bail.
