Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School Board Trustee Annemarie Gibson will step down from her board seat, effective Wednesday.
Gibson was elected to the board in May 2014 for a three-year term, expiring June 30, 2017.
“We are all grateful for her service, her dedication to Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda schools, and her commitment to the success of all students,” said Jill O’Mailley, board president. “Her unique perspective as a classroom teacher and caring nature for those around her will be greatly missed.”
The board may appoint a new member to fill her vacant seat until the next election, on May 17, 2106. After the election, the vacancy would be filled for the remainder of the three-year term.
The district will soon initiate an application process to identify candidates, conduct interviews and appoint an individual to fill Gibson’s seat on the board until next spring’s election.
Additional information about the process is available on the district’s Website at www.ktufsd.org.
