Two charged in West Seneca convenience store robbery

West Seneca police arrested a man and a woman on charges of robbing a 7-Eleven convenience store on Seneca Street early Saturday morning.

Chares E. Scott, Jr. of Eiss Place and Jessica L. Maynard of Hopkins Road approached a store clerk just after midnight and told him to open the register, according to police. Both wore hoodies and bandanas to obscure their faces and had their hands inside their hoodie pockets, apparently holding what appeared to be a weapon, police said.

The clerk told the pair that he didn’t work there, walked away and called the police.

The responding officer saw the two suspects drive from the store and arrested them on Union Road.

While being interviewed, Scott and Maynard admitted to similar robberies in several other communities, where charges are pending.

Scott and Maynard, arraigned in West Seneca Town Court on Saturday morning, were sent to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $5,000 bail.
