Falls man faces pockets full of trouble in casino arrest

NIAGARA FALLS – The troubles kept being compounded for a Niagara falls man every time he reached into his pocket Friday morning.

Jerry A. Austin Jr., 35, of Greenview Terrace, was arrested shortly after 4 a.m. at Seneca Niagara Casino after officials there told police that he dropped a plastic bag containing a suspicious white powder while at a casino counter.

Police said they stopped Austin as he attempted to leave the casino and asked him to show identification – when another powder-filled bag fell from his pockets, authorities said.

While being booked at police headquarters, yet more white powder was found inside a cigarette pack on Austin, said police, who added that he was found to be in possession of more than 10 grams of cocaine. Austin was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
