Canalside events to mark 25 years of Americans with Disabilities Act

The WNY Independent Living Center, Parent Network of Western New York, Explore & More Children’s Museum and several other organizations will combine forces Sunday at Canalside to present free activities to recognize the 25th anniversary of the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Food, games, music and information on the ADA and resources for families will be available from dawn to dusk.

The Universal Design Yoga team also will teach a free yoga class from 4 to 5 p.m.

The ADA prohibits discrimination and ensures equal opportunity for those with disabilities in terms of employment, government services, public accommodations, commercial facilities and transportation. It also mandates the establishment of TDD/telephone relay services.
