Two stuck on ledge at Whirlpool State Park

NIAGARA FALLS – State Park Police were busy Thursday freeing two men who became stuck on a ledge at the Whirlpool State Park in the Niagara Gorge.

The men called in about their problem, which came as they were in a training session for an area organization, about 6:25 p.m. Police helped them to safety.

In an unrelated case Thursday afternoon, Canadian authorities reported that a boy from Toronto had drowned while swimming off Crystal Beach. The name of the boy was not released pending notification of more of his relatives, and no further details of the drowning were reveled.
