A 28-year-old Potomac Avenue man was charged by Buffalo Police Sex Offense Squad detectives with the knife-point rape of a Fargo Avenue woman shortly after the victim called 911 and officers stopped him several blocks from her house late Thursday morning.

Cornell Long was charged by Detectives Jacqueline S. Sullivan and Valerie Stover-Kelly with first degree rape, first-degree burglary and second-degree menacing with a weapon shortly after Police Officers Mark Tripp and Dave Wojtasik took him into custody on Fargo Avenue about 8:45 a.m. Before being taken to a hospital for a medical checkup the young victim told the detectives Long broke into her house and raped her at knife-point.
