Buffalo woman arrested for crack while speeding

A 27-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested on felony and misdemeanor drug charges after a State Police officer pulled her over for speeding on the Niagara Thruway in the Town of Tonawanda early Tuesday afternoon.

Mercedes Curry was charged after the trooper reported finding in her vehicle about 3.2 grams of crack cocaine, about 3.3 grams of alleged hallucinogenic mushrooms and about a gram of marijuana. She was charged with firth and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. She faces further proceedings in Tonawanda Town Court, State Police reported Thursday.
