The Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. and Visit Buffalo Niagara have been awarded accreditation by the Destination Marketing Association International, area tourism officials announced.
The accreditation illustrates a destination marketing organization’s commitment to industry excellence and to raising the performance and accountability of such organizations around the world, officials said.
In order to become accredited, a destination marketing organization must demonstrate compliance across 16 disciplines and successfully comply with 58 mandatory and 30 voluntary standards.
“This accreditation validates the hard work Visit Buffalo Niagara undertakes daily to promote the transformative renaissance Buffalo is experiencing,” Visit Buffalo Niagara President and CEO Patrick Kaler said in a statement. “By receiving this accreditation, VBN is committing to the best practices industry-wide to market Buffalo as an exciting visitor destination.”
