Sunset Bay Walleye Shootout casts lines on Saturday

SUNSET BAY – The fifth annual Sunset Bay Walleye Shootout will be held on Lake Erie on Saturday, with a shotgun start out of Cattaraugus Creek at 7 a.m.

The fishing tournament, part of the Top Gun Professional Walleye Series, is expected to draw 70 boats consisting of teams of two to five anglers, with organizers anticipating anglers from eight states to attend.

Boats are due back by 3:30 p.m. and the weigh-in will begin at 5 p.m. on the beach at Cabana Sam’s. Each team may use a maximum of nine rods and can weigh a maximum of six fish.

The event also includes a practice day on Friday known as “Big Fish Friday.”
