Buffalo crack dealer is given a stiff federal prison term

Michael Woods, 26, a former Buffalo crack cocaine dealer and ex-convict, was ordered Wednesday to serve an 84 month Federal prison term by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny on his conviction for both possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

After his release from Federal prison in December 2010 Woods resumed his Buffalo crack business only to be arrested by Buffalo police on March 19, 2012 in a car in which they found he had a .45 caliber handgun and a quantity of crack cocaine hidden behind the back seat. While on bail pending proceedings in that case he was arrested again by Buffalo police while a passenger in a car on May 27, 2013. After throwing a 9 mm handgun to the ground along with four vials of marijuana and trying to outrun Buffalo police officers that day he was captured again and jailed.
