Elba woman arrested and county seizes her three young children

ELBA – A 26-year-old Elba woman was arrested Tuesday after her three young children were found playing near a major intersection unsupervised for over a half hour, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

Crystal Marie Bouter of Oak Orchard Road was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child by sheriff deputies, and officials from the Genesee County Department of Social Services took custody of the three children just after 10 a.m..

At her early afternoon arraignment in Elba Town Court, she was released under court supervision and ordered to return to court for further proceedings at 6 p.m. Aug. 18. Sheriff’s deputies reported finding her three young children “playing near the roadway near a major intersection, wearing insufficient or no clothing while unsupervised,” according to an arrest report.
