Buffalo motorcyclist charged with DWI after downtown incident

A Buffalo man resident arrested after troopers interrupted an escalating confrontation between people riding on a motorcycle and in a car, State Police reported.

It happened Monday on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, where troopers saw a woman riding on a motorcycle making offensive gestures to the driver and passengers of a car. Both vehicles then stopped and their occupants emerged, continuing the confrontation.

Troopers stopped, as well, and ordered the combatants to return to their respective vehicles.

The driver and passenger on the motorcycle were intoxicated, police said. The driver, David Dyer, 49, also had a suspended license.

Dyer was charged with DWI, operating a motor vehicle with no license and aggravated unlicensed operation, police said. He also was cited for modifying a muffler and for failure to change address.

Dyer is to appear July 29 in Buffalo City Court.
