Buffalo man sent to jail for Cheektowaga shoplifting

A 52-year-old Buffalo man is serving a 90-day local jail term imposed by Cheektowaga Town Justice Paul S. Piotrowski on his petit larceny plea for a shoplifting incident in a Genesee Street store, town officials reported Tuesday.

Quinnie Gernay of Chelsea Place, was sentenced Friday for his arrest after a mid-December shoplifting arrest at the Family Dollar store on Genesee Street, according to Assistant Police Chief James Speyer. The judge cited Gernay’s extensive criminal history in refusing to spare him a jail term, Speyer said.
