Animal rescue group at Canal Fest

Adoptable dogs will be presented by Heart of Niagara Rescue during Canal Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Clinton Park, Clinton and Broad streets, City of Tonawanda.

The pets presentation is sponsored by the Historical Society of the Tonawandas and will be part of the annual flea market at Canal Fest.

Visit them in the park to find out more about adopting a dog, the adoption process or becoming a volunteer. Heart of Niagara is a rescue organization whose mission is to protect abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals The Rescue has adopted out more than 330 animals and operates solely on donations.

The next volunteer meeting and adoption event is Aug. 12, 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Raintree Island Apartments’ music and food festival in Tonawanda.
