Jerry Lee Herling Sr., retired Marilla business owner

Feb. 7, 1941 – July 17, 2015

Jerry Lee Herling Sr., who owned H&H Fabricating in Marilla, died Friday in Sisters Hospital, St. Joseph Campus, Cheektowaga. He was 74.

Mr. Herling opened the company in 1982. A few years later, he started the Convenient Food Mart in Elma. He retired from both businesses in 2006.

A native of Alma, Mich., he lived in Marilla and East Aurora since 1958. He was a longtime member of Local 17 International Union of Operating Engineers.

Survivors include his wife, the former Kathleen Fierle; two daughters, Bonnie Frisbie and Nancy Kidder; two sons, Jerry Jr. and Steven; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Marilla Cemetery on Two Rod Road.
