Edwin A. Banaszak, technical illustrator, World War II veteran

Aug. 14, 1922 – July 15 2015

Edwin Banaszak, of Depew, a technical illustrator for Bell Aerospace, died in Rochester on Wednesday. He was 92.

Mr. Banaszak was lifelong area resident who was born in Buffalo and studied art at the Albright-Knox Art School.

During World War II, he was an Army Air Forces staff sergeant who supervised 12 mechanics to repair and maintain airplanes. After the war, he returned to Bell, where he’d worked before serving.

He was married to the former late Ruth Lois Mueller, who died in 1988. Mr. Banaszak was member of Toastmasters International and the Buffalo chapter of the Society of Reliability Engineers.

He is survived by three sons, David, Mark and Daniel; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at St. Adalbert Cemetery, 6200 Broadway, Lancaster.
