Fights, unruly behavior lead to early shutdown of Italian Heritage Festival

Fights and what was described as unruly behavior led to the early shutdown of the Galbani Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival Saturday night, Buffalo Police said.

The festival, which runs until 10 p.m., was ordered closed at 9:15 p.m. by Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda, said a police spokesman.

Buffalo Police reported that two people were arrested. The two suspects, whom police did not identify, face charges of disorderly conduct.

The festival reopens at 11 a.m. Sunday, its final day.
