Falls police called twice to scene of Whitney Avenue break-in

NIAGARA FALLS – Police were called to a Whitney Avenue home twice Friday evening to investigate a burglary and the assault on a resident.

Police said the first visit was for the report of an apartment door kicked in and a bathroom window smashed. When they returned about 8:45 p.m., a 48-year-old resident said she had been “jumped” by another woman in the alley next to her home and the apartment had been broken into again. This time, police said, furniture was damaged.

Police said glass had been broken throughout the home, a balcony door was smashed and smeone urinated on the victim’s bed. The victim told police that two men involved in the earlier break-in may have been responsible for the later damage, which was estimated at $2,000.
