Erie County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Rath Building broke up a drug deal at the corner of Main and Court streets Thursday afternoon.
Deputy Richard Lundberg was patrolling county buildings about 2 p.m. when he observed two men transferring pills at the corner. As the deputy began placing Joshua Sojda, 28 of Buffalo, into custody, he observed Sojda swallow the pills.
The second subject ignored Lundberg’s order to halt and began to flee.
Deputies Michael Sluberski, Paul Reed and Robert Sloier arrived and began searching for the second subject. The deputies located the individual on Main Street and placed David Seay into custody. During the deputies’ search, they said they discovered Suboxone pills concealed on him,
Sojda was arrested and charged with a felony count of tampering with evidence by swallowing the pills and Seay, 55, of Buffalo, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and obstructing government administration.
Both were remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending a future court date in Buffalo City Court.
