Luxury car destroyed by fire after 3-car crash on Grand Island

A luxury sports car was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon in a three-car crash on Grand Island, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called at 2:41 p.m. to the intersection of Baseline and Whitehaven roads where a 2012 Jaguar was found burning. The Jaguar’s driver, Frank Colucci, 68, of Grand Island escaped from the vehicle and was evaluated for a minor injury but declined further treatment, according to Ray Pauley, public information officer for the Grand Island Fire Company.

The other drivers, Sam McBride, 63, and Dan Mazurek, 54, both of Grand Island, also were not seriously injured, Pauley said in a news release.

Fire Capt. Ryan Ayers declared the Jaguar a total loss, with damage estimated at $55,000.
