Lockside Art Center to mark first anniversary

LOCKPORT – Four events are set for Aug. 1 at Lockside Art Center, 21 Main St., Lockport, as the not-for-profit center marks its first anniversary.

Besides the celebration with free birthday cake from 1 to 4 p.m., the center will open its annual members’ exhibition and a sculpture exhibition. It also will dedicate the Robert M. Giannetti – Bob’s Olde Books Collection, referring to a popular Lewiston used book store that carried many art books.

The center also announced a lineup of fall art classes, all taught by experienced instructors. Preregistration is required, with more information available at the center or at locksideartcenter.com.

Subjects of the courses will include “artful tangles,” beginning and intermediate watercolor painting, dry felting, oil painting, pastel painting, outdoor photography, photo editing for beginners, and how to use a digital camera.
